Education Reform in the Punjab, Pakistan (World Bank)
Communications Strategy Development
As communications lead specialists to the World Bank-funded Punjab Education Sector Project, DHA are helping to transform access, quality and governance in all 88,000 schools in Pakistan’s most populous province.
The state of education in Pakistan is one of the country’s most pressing development challenges. DHA are supporting an ambitious four-year programme to deliver lasting change in the Punjab’s school education sector. We have designed – and are delivering - a comprehensive Information and Communication Strategy including researching the views of 600 parents, teachers, pupils and community members; analysing government and school structures, stakeholders’ information needs and; assessing the communication and media environment across the Province.
We have trained education officials at all levels, and have designed a new government unit to deliver this strategy and, with DHA’s support, ground-breaking School Report Cards are now displayed on the external wall of all of Punjab’s middle and high schools giving parents, pupils and communities the information they need to demand improvements.
